M/Stena Danica, has four short stroke engines,each on 10,000 HP. The engines do not stand upright, but have a certain tilt in order to minimize the total height of the ship (a ferry). Her DWT is 30,000 tons. The machine room has also a number of diesel-electric machines, pumps, fans and other stuff, which makes a total noise that is unbearable. I have minimized those sounds by means of filter and I have not used a wide angle microphone. So, most of what you hear is from one of the four main engines.

Thanks I was looking for a SEMT Pielstick or Sulzer droan but yours is good, I assume thats at idle?
