On the night of Sunday February 14th Portland Oregon was hit with a severe ice storm, coating everything with thick ice. In late morning on Monday the 15th the sun came out and the ice began to melt. I went for a walk to see all the damage and came across this very large tree that was bathed in sunlight and dropping all its ice onto some abandoned cars in the street below. A few other people also felt it was quite a spectacle as well. No one in the city had any electricity, most of the roads were impossible to use either from ice or from fallen trees so this provided so much needed entertainment.
