Most if not all of my recordings are released under an Attribution License which means that you must give credit to me if you want to use a sound. You can do this by including "theplax of freesound.org" and the name of the sound in the description or credits of your work.
The lossy MP3 preview on Freesound isn't particularly flattering. It's best to download a sound so you know what you're really getting. I know about some of the file sizes, but WAV just happens to be industry standard - sorry!
