The busy pedestrian and auto traffic in the streets of Harvard Square, Cambridge, MA. A large truck passing, some group chatter, and in the last 20 seconds or so you can hear that electronic crosswalk chirp thing :)

This is so much better than the many other cuts I screened. Creates context along with the background ambiance that I'm looking for. Intimate. Great job!

I must disagree with some of the comments above. This is one of the VERY FEW street-level recordings that creates a proper picture. Most are recorded from a too-distant perspective; all you hear is rumble. There's no irrelevant chatter, and the perspective is fixed. As for the mp3 encoding, I'll bet there's not a whit of difference between the highs in the original and this version, and that's due to the mic. I think it's great. So there.

This is just perfect for a project I'm working on. To all the critics of this file....please. There are a LOT worse examples of horrible recording than this one.

Well, hmm, don't like that sound.
It's a good example of the disadvantage of mp3-encoding. The heights are completely cut off. That's a pity.
