Recorded on the east side of South Wabash Avenue close to the intersection of Wabash and East Harrison Street, in the south loop area of Chicago, on 7/20/2013.
The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south.
Cars accumulate at the intersection of Harrison and Wabash to the south (left).
Time of recording was 5:41pm. Weather was warm, in the 80s.
Recording details: 2 Audio Technica AT4022s in Rycote windshields > Sound Devices 302 mixer > Tascam DR-40 recorder.

Maybe a WAV file next time, as this file format is unsupported by Adobe Premiere and Media Encoder.

Thank you, it's a habit I'm trying to get into. The photo plus Google Street View via the geotag gives a good idea of the surroundings of the recording location, at least for urban areas. A reference panorama photo could be a good choice for non-urban recordings.

I love that you took a photo of your set up... it really helps us visualize what we're hearing. Bravo!
