Katabatic wind blowing in Terre Adélie, Antarctica. The wind was not very strong, just 120km/h, but it produced a nice whistling music to my hear.

As I was not well equipped for this kind of recording (my home made windshield is not good enough for this kind of environment) and my Rode NT4 mic does not stand any wind at all, I did this record in a small building (you can hear few times the door shaking).

Rode NT4 + home brewed preamp + M-Audio micro track II

Thank you for sharing. Going to use a snippet in a podcast on Douglas Mawson. Cheers.

Well done on recording this blizzard ambience! The whistling is clear and crisp!
