    I'm surprised of the Zoom H2 sound, I used a H4n before and it was very noisy. thanks for the recording.

    @yagodequay: Why flac? Because this sort of sound is very hard to compress without losing quality. Mp3 is right out. I might have tried ogg/vorbis, but flac is a better choice in this case. Both mp3 and vorbis are "lossy", meaning they compress audio by throwing away the parts of the sound you are unlikely to hear. Sharp, dynamic sounds, like clapping, get muddied by lossy compression. So the only choices for this sound, really, were wav or flac, both of which keep the sound perfectly intact. Since wav is completely uncompressed and this file is fairly long, it makes sense to compress it using flac. A side benefit is that flac, unlike wav, can store meta data.
