This sound was recorded at Stanford University in a studio (very hi-fi environment) on Monday, September 7th, 2009. The sound is of an orange being peeled and then partially eaten. The mic was placed almost directly in front of the eater and fruit.

low frequency structural noise, high digital compression, undesirable noises over the top of eating sounds...

Maybe your 'environment' was hi-fi (how is that even possible), but your samplerate & bit depth is not. Your signal-to-noise ratio is also questionable.
