Recording of my personal Doumbek 12”x20” goblet hand drum, manufactured by Mid-East Percussion, it has an aluminum shell, and I installed a goat-skin head. Recording captured by X/Y orientation stereo overhead PZM microphones. I have captured individual articulations including: doum (center resonant hit), tek (rim with non-dominant hand), ka (rim with dominant hand), mute (center stopped with cupped hand), slap (flat of hand), etcetera. In addition I have included some basic rhythm loops which can be mixed and matched to create a simple percussion backing part. Feedback on the samples is welcome; use and enjoy!
