Dawn chorus recorded on 25/04/2025. Time represented is from about 05:10 to 06:40, with sunrise being 05:51 on this day (all times BST). The recording has been edited to remove the worst of the aircraft and road noise. It is, therefore, shorter than the times above would suggest.
Creaking of trees as they move in the breeze can be heard as well as many birds. The footsteps that can be heard, particularly at the end are not me as I wasn't there! These may be muntjac, which do occur in the area.
The location is an area of woodland in a nature reserve operated by Essex Wildlife Trust that is adjacent to Hanningfield reservoir, Essex, UK.
Birds that can be heard include (hopefully, not too many errors or omissions!):
Song thrush
Cuckoo (including a possible female at around 34 minutes)
Greylag goose
Canada goose
European robin
Carrion crow
Blackbird
Wren
Moorhen
Woodpigeon
Goldcrest
Herring gull
Blue tit
Egyptian goose
Coot
Stock dove
Chiffchaff
Great spotted woodpecker
Great tit
Unattended setup with the Zoom H1 essential and Earsight Standard Stereo Pair of mics being left overnight.
