Rural ambience and increasingly loud Canadian geese near the hamlet of Copake Falls, in rural upstate New York, USA, in October, at dusk. Geese gather and call to one-another in the distance, and their activity comes closer and becomes louder as they fly by directly overhead. Crickets and other nocturnal insects chirp in the nearby vicinity. In the distance, the rapids of a stream and far-off highway traffic. A car approaches in the final seconds of the recording.
High-pass EQ and very moderate compression applied. Recorded with a Sony PCM-D50 with mics in their wide position.
I also have a version of this file that has not been EQ'd or compressed, which preserves more of a low-frequency roar in the background. If you are interested in receiving it, just let me know.
