this is an unprocessed field recording of 2 buddhist nuns, jun-san and kyoko-san, of the nipponzan myohoji order, drumming and chanting at the grafton peace pagoda (grafton, new york). the drumming is in 6, the chanted phrase lasts for 2 measures of 6, and each of their chants is offset by 1 measure of 6. one chants a consistent repeated melody, the other varies her melody creating beautiful harmonies with the first. recorded to 320kbps mp3 format on an edirol r-09 using the built-in stereo mics.
