During a hike in some rocky woods, I found a face of sandstone which had numerous hollows in it which contained icicles of various sizes. The temperature was just above freezing so these little icy blades were melting into the bare ground at the base of one of the rocky cliffs...
This is a recording of those little, clear drops of winter's melt-water hitting the rock, and, in some cases, hitting some moss-covered rocks. To add to the outdoor ambiance, there is a bird calling out at the 14 second to 17 second mark.
And a crow calls at 41 seconds into the recording.
This was made using the Zoom H4N, and it's internal built-in microphones.
