The sounds former London Midland Scottish locomotives at work on the Great Central Railway.
L.M.S Stanier 8F Class 2-8-0 No.48624 clears the single line section at Rothley and accelerates away under the road bridge towards Quorn and Woodhouse. L.M.S Class 2 2-6-0 No.46521 has been waiting patiently for the road and once given the right away gets smartly away towards Leicester North.
Rain is dripping from the trees after a brief shower and has eased off to a fine drizzle. An approaching train is heard heading from Quorn and Woodhouse. L.M.S Ivatt Class 4 2-6-0 No.43106 passes heading towards Rothley.
L.M.S 0-6-0T Class 3F 'Jinty' No.47406 (disguised as No.47203) gives a long whistle and races past under Kinchley Lane over bridge towards Rothley as the rain spatters down once more.
At Quorn and Woodhouse we hear L.M.S Class 2 2-6-0 No.46521 arriving with a train for Leicester North and L.M.S Stanier 8F Class 2-8-0 No.48624 with a train for Loughborough Central. A vintage car passes by on it's way out of the Car Park as a motorbike passes noisily over the road bridge. No.48624 gets the right away first and blasts powerfully away under the bridge drowning out the departure of No.46521.
L.M.S Class 2 2-6-0 No 46521 races through Quorn Station with the Travelling Post Office coaches. Dropping and picking up two mailbags by the signalbox.

Great recording. I'd like to use it in an Am Dram production for the Maritime Players in Appledore, North Devon.
Would this ok. I will use it to build an ambient soundscape for WW2 station.
thanks Phillip
