At Ferry Meadows station. Black 5 No 45337 leads the top and tailed train with BR Class 14 No 9520 at the rear. The train pauses at the empty platform whilst the crossing warning buzzer is activated. The train is packed with happy children, their faces pressed against the steamy windows. The fireman jumps back in the cab and the whistle sounds. The locomotive beats strongly away towards Wansford.
