Waves on breakwater of the river Amer. BirdBoats in the background.

About the picture
The photo shows a calm river landscape along the Amer, with gently rippling water reflecting the light. Seen from a low riverbank with tall grass and reeds in the foreground, the view opens across the broad waterway. In the near water stand three dark metal mooring posts, sturdy poles used for securing ships; one of them carries a small, light-colored marker box on top.
Across the Amer lies the Anna Jacobaplaat, a long, green island-like stretch that is part of the Biesbosch National Park. Its trees and shrubs form a continuous green band along the horizon. Above it stretches a clear, cloudless blue sky, giving the scene an open and tranquil atmosphere. Beyond this plate begins the Hollands Diep, adding a sense of transition from the sheltered waters of the Biesbosch to a wider, more open water system.
