Curfew city, 13th night 8-11pm. Curfew start 9pm. MORE IN THIS PACK. Nothing yesterday.
This is the thirteenth day in the Netherlands that we not only have a corona lockdown, but now also with a curfew from 9 in the evening. The lockdown started in December.
General info;
To find out what the effect is on the environment, I have my microphones on my high balcony from eight o'clock. The recording will run through to 11 pm.
You may not only hear it getting quieter but also see it in the diagram.
This curfew will mean that everyone must stay inside between 9pm and 04:30am. The aim of the curfew is to slow the infection rate by preventing people from visiting each other and gathering in groups. While the curfew is in force people will not be allowed outside without a valid reason.
Today’s recording;
The wind is blowing from the east and is a friendly 2 bft, it couldn't be better. The highway on the west side of the building sounds far away.
8:00 am
Now, an hour before curfew starts, it is pleasant. The temperature is pleasant. Mother and two daughters are having fun walking their dog. The constant barking of another bored or lonely dog.
8:49 PM
The girls are still playing outside. The street is dry so we are not bothered by the car tires.
9:10 PM
Wonderful, a quiet evening with dogs barking in the distance.
10:15 am
Wonderful that peace and the background noise of the city. It sounds like the deep night around three in the morning, but it's evening during curfew. And while we are all forced to sit inside, the dog owners are walking down the street again, smiling, but not too loud. They talk to each other and I talk to the houseplant on the windowsill. oh, luckily, it's starting to rain. Too bad about the beautiful sound recording, but now the men quickly run inside. It's a minimal win over the virus for me.
Now it is good to listen to the sound of the car tires that I keep nagging about. The sound gets sharper. Just wait and see.
10:45 PM
Two women are walking their dogs. One dog is crazy.
Meanwhile in our country;
There are more and more reports that the curfew will continue after March 10. But nothing is yet certain. The government fear a third wave of the Corona virus. The outbreak management team will tell later this week what to do.
It will start winter from Saturday night. Unprecedented amounts of snow are expected for the Netherlands. Freezing rain is first expected for our province North-Brabant. If it really is, you will hear how the noise of the city will be muffled. Thumbs up for me. Hopefully the predictions will come true.
