Ambiance during the day of a large park with oak and beech trees. CLEAN RECORDING.
De Manteling bij Domburg 01
Many birds sing their highest song. Occasionally the wind blows through the trees. It is a beautiful day in May. People on bikes in the distance and some walk there. The wind is weak, but every now and then it lights up. This recording is in the morning.

The park is located on the Zeeland coast in the Netherlands. "De Manteling van Walcheren", a nature reserve, is a classic country estate zone with forests, stretches of dunes, straight-lined avenues and winding paths. From the 17th to the 19th centuries, the Middelburg elite lived here in the summer; in the 20th century many houses were inhabited permanently or an institution came into it.

Hardly anywhere else in Europe do deciduous trees grow so close to the coast. In this area you can hear a nightingale singing and a seagull screaming at the same time, but not in this recording. Staatsbosbeheer manages a number of stately country estates such as Westhove, Berkenbosch and Duinbeek in the Manteling. The 18th-century former orangery of Westhove Castle houses Terra Maris, the Zeeland museum for nature and landscape. Come and have a look and enjoy yourself walking or on a bike when you are here.
