A ship-lock (lockages) in Holland, between rivers Maas and Dieze near city 's-Hertogenbosch and village Engelen.
A to long two-part tug-boat enters the lock. The two parts of the ship had to be disconnected to fit in the sluice. This gives a great noise. You hear the Germans speaking shipmates communicate by a walkie-talkie, the rumble noise of the ship-part hitting each other and the concrete walls of the lock. It's a constant labour for the shipmates to have the ship in the correct position during the lowering of the water.
recorded: sluis Engelen, Henriettewaard, Graaf van Solmsweg, 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch), Holland (Netherlands).
Weather conditions: March 21, 2013, 2 pm. Temp 5c, wind 1 bft variable directions, cloudy.
