Beach soundscape from a 25 meter high dune in Holland during a spring sunset.

Beach from Dune at Dutch coast of The Netherlands
It's sunset and a strong wind is blowing from the land behind me. Down on the beach some kids are playing and screaming on this spring evening.
As you can see on the picture there are beach-hut's on the beach where people can sleep and enjoy during spring and summer. In September the huts are gone, otherwise the sea would do that.
You can hear the wind in the wire 10cm from my microphone that is hang on a pole as you can see. It was a mistake, but gives a nice effect sometimes.
Slowly a large tanker sails past. It gives a far engine hum.
The grass you see on the picture is 'European marram grass' and 'European beachgrass'. It is native to the coastlines hear. It grows in the sands of beach dunes. It is a perennial grass forming stiff, hardy clumps of erect stems up to 1.2 metres in height. It grows from a network of thick rhizomes which give it a sturdy anchor in the sand.
This grass gives structure to the sand-dunes. The dunes are part of the Dutch defence against the North Sea. The land behind the dune on this location is about 1 - 1.5 meters below sea level.
