A windy (4-5 bft) harbour of Vlissingen Holland at the seaside.
View on the harbour. Right you see my gear
A mud barge is sailing and anchors in front of me on 50 meters. Later a bunker vessel will come to bring some fuel. During this recording you hear the radio communication between the ships.
Despite the high wall left of me you can hear the howling wind sometimes trough a fence on 1m of the microphone.
In the distance Arctic Terns (look like small seagull) calling.
After 18 minutes you hear two boys with there father coming to fish. The stay for the rest of the recording. There background chat completes the ambiance in my opinion.
After 19 minutes the bunker ship sails trough the sea-lock and fastens on the mus barge. Hear the propeller-water and engine so close. Nice to hear the people on board talking so now and than. These people do not talk very much. After 50 minutes both ships leave one by one and it becomes quiet and peaceful. The Terns are happy, that's for sure!
The harbour is protected by a long breakwater as you can see on the picture.
I hope you like this long ambient recording. Close your eyes and be there for a hour.
Location: Sea-harbour Vlissingen sea-side (see geotag. Holland (The Netherlands).
