Calm morning in a Filipino suburb, with cicadas.
I made this recording during a calm morning, from the terrace of a house located at Santa Monica Heights, which is a costal residential area near Calapan city (oriental Mindoro, Philippines).
One can hear predominant cicadas, the neighbour’s dog barking sometimes, some birds chirping, as well as distant traffic hum, and few human activities.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H6essential (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.

Yeah, thanks Kevin.
I can hear them in some cases, but not always.
My hearing drops off at around 3000 Hz.
Then the tinnitus takes over for the remainder of the scale.
But that's ok, I get by.
What?

Thank you very much !
Really sorry that you could not heard the cicadas.
Their noise sounds like a continuous ‘’SSSS’’.

Unfortunately Cicadas are not usually within my 'somewhat limited' frequency range.
However, even with just the dogs, birds, traffic and humans, it was really rather good.
5* for sure.

@newlocknew : Thank you very much for your rating and comment !
Well, yes, it was quite fresh : about 30°C at the time of the recording ! ;-)
