Traffic in a street of Calapan city, Philippines.
I made this recording near a downtown street of Calapan city (Oriental Mindoro, Philippines), One can hear quite heavy traffic with lots of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, some trucks and some jeepneys) passing by and onking at times, as well as the voices of some people in the street.
Recorded in July 2025 with a Zoom H5studio (built-in XY microphones).
Fade in/out applied in Audacity.

@klankbeeld: You’re welcome !
Yes, in France too, honking is often a way to complain, except in case of wedding of course ! ;-)

@Kevp888 Thank you for the explanation. Here, honking is usually an aggressive expression of frustration.

Thank you klankbeeld !
In fact they honk their horns because they are talkative !
This is their way to inform you about what they will do... For example, they asy ‘’Hey, be careful, I’m here, I’ll overtake on your left, or right’’, it depends… ;-)
Or ‘’Be careful, I’ll stop to take or pick up a passenger’’.
Or just to say hello to a friend ! ;-)

Why do Asians always honk their horns?
Anyway, a wonderful atmosphere and well recorded.
