Church bells during a warm evening. (Binaural, please use headset for 3D effects.)
I made this recording in Nanterre (suburb of Paris, France), during an exceptionally warm evening of October, standing just in front of the Cathedral Sainte geneviève.
One can hear the ambience of the square, with lots of parakeets flying over, some people talking, doing their business, walking, passing by riding their bicycles. On the left, a funny drunk man is sitting in front of a house, and he’s talking quite loud in his mobile phone.
Then, at 0’46’’, the two bells start ringing, announcing 7PM. (Yes, I know, the small bell doesn’t rings 7 times, but 33 times, probably for the angelus, or maybe for the curfew, and that’s why I think it’s interesting !)
Recorded in October 2021 with an Olympus LS-P4 and Ohrwurm 3D binaural microphones.
Fade in/out and high pass filter at 60Hz -6dB/oct applied in Audacity.
