134 BPM loopable syncable cicada sound at 134 Beats Per Minute. Recorded late july 1990, Gard (30) in the South of France.
(The sample loops fluently, unlike on this site's player where it has a short dip.)
This is the animal you hear, the mediteranian flavour of this species: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cicada
It's a 48 kHz sample rate wav source, but freesound seems to have changed it into 44.1 kHz. No idea why, but that's on them.

eeh no, it's 134 BPM. You're probably playing it back at 44.1 kHz samplerate, which happens a lot with recordings uploaded as 48kc here.
