I am a totally blind audio enthusiast who likes to capture anything and everything around me. I call it blind photography. Since everybody else takes pictures, why can’t I record?
So I do.
Whether it is a random event recorded with my amazing Zoom H1essential and LOM MikroUši microphones clipped to my shirt collar for fancy binaural stereo, or something more deliberate recorded with various other microphones and recorders, I like collecting the sounds around me.
The gear I own so far:
• Zoom H6studio recorder. This lives in my backpack permanently. My backpack lives on me, mostly permanently.• Zoom H6studio XY and MS/shotgun capsules. Also usually with me.• Sony PCM-D100. This was with me before the H6studio was released, but still finds good use.• Zoom F6 recorder. For recording more serious noises, perhaps even overnight in a forest.• Clippy EM272 microphones.• Zoom H1essential recorder. It’s in my pocket when I suspect something unexpected might happen.• LOM MikroUši microphones. Clipped to my shirt collar to capture whatever unexpected thing might happen.• Sennheiser AMBEO Smart Headset for iPhone.
