I had an old Imagewriter LQ. Loudest printer I'd ever heard, plus it was very heavy and HUGE! Printed in B&W; or color, at 216 dpi (3 times the Mac's screen resolution of 72dpi).

I remember I had an Apple dot matrix printer. I am still very fond of that sound. I printed out a banner for Christmas once and once for my 16th b-day back in 94 and I remember it took half an hour to print out.

I remember my dot matrix. Those printers were LOUD! As in, you can hear it from outside your house loud.
