A reciprocating saw at a construction site. This is also known as a Saws-All or a Sawzall. It is commonly used in remodeling work when you have to saw through a board without disturbing the surrounding boards. This was recorded as some workmen repaired my front porch on September 23, 2009. It was culled from more than half-an-hour of sawing. There are several varieties of sawing sounds -- some long and some short. Some are accompanied by hammering and boards falling on the floor and some muffled conversation. (There were two men working.) Some of the sawing sounds are very labored because they were sawing through some boards that had hidden screws and nails embedded in them.
