This sound came to me thanks to the visualization during an evening with my friends of one of my favorite action movies. At the end of this movie, there is an action scene in a forest with a violent storm. There are muffled noises around this scene that appear at times.
To briefly summarize the scene, a serial killer is in a forest and is about to commit a crime, he pursues a young woman for several seconds before coming face to face with her and killing her!
I wanted to represent through this sound, a strong moment of suspense that we are used to see at the end of the episode of a series or a movie.
Several steps were necessary to achieve this sound, I first lowered the speed to 0.500 with a percentage change to -50,000 to immerse the viewer in the action. I wanted to make the spectator live the scene so that he becomes an actor. Lowering the speed will make the action more real.
Then I amplified the sound slightly by 2 with a new amplitude reaching 6.0166. The amplification plays a great role in the intensification of the sound and also immerses those who listen to it in the action.
I slightly modified the pitch by lowering it to 6 to make the sound lower and therefore more real (0.42 semitones). The frequency is 1910.4 Hz with a percentage of modification at 2.456.
To finish I faded the sound in the opening so that the noise would get louder over time. Just before the end I placed a cut (when the killer finds the girl) and I finished the sound with a reverb (at 50%, a damping at 55%, a pre-delay at 15 and a room size at 90%) to make the sound persist and create an echo at the moment when the girl is killed by a gun
This is a sound that was fun to reproduce.
