Recorded north of Geneseo, NY and just east of the Genesee River in a marshy area that is part of a large flood plain. This is the same ambience as "nationfrogs1.wav", but was recorded in mono. At 2:00 AM the sounds of Spring Peepers, Western Chorus Frog, Northern Leopard Frog, and a couple twangs from a Green Frog are heard, along with a single Wood Frog (just after the 1:00 mark of the recording). The (metallic grunt) mating call of a Virginia Rail can also be heard out in the marsh. The "pings" from my parked vehicle's exhaust cooling down was also picked up by the mic. Equipment used was a Sennheiser ME66/K6 combo mic, along with a Sony MZ-NH1 HD minidisc recorder.
