Recorded at the edge of lowland forest that is part of the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park in Sabang, Palawan, Philippines. This recording is a separate one from the Bambua02.WAV recording that is also in this sample pack. The "growl" or "snore" of an endemic Palawan Scops Owl can be heard, along with the sounds of various forest and bush crickets. The rumblings of an agitated Tokay Gecko can also be heard near the end of the recording. I disturbed the gecko while trying to get closer to the owl, hoping to get a look, and catch a glimpse of it's red eyes with my headlamp. I never did see the owl, and retreated when it stopped calling. Equipment used was a Sennheiser MKE-300 mic, with an Edirol R-09 recorder. Some editing was done to reduce the background noise in this recording.
