(EDIT: this is a test edit, please listen how nice it is at #124:36)
All-night field-recording of a quiet field next a street in l'Ametlla del Vallès (Barcelona, Spain). Recording took place on the night from 2nd to 3rd of May, 2020, during COVID19 confinement. The recording is divided in 4 parts:
- From 22h to 00:30h
- From 00:30h to 3h
- From 3h to 5:30h
- From 5:30h to 8:30h (this file)
The first part of the recording starts with the church bells ringing 22h. During the first three parts you can hear a very quiet ambience, only some dogs from time to time, roosters, cars passing by, general calmness. By the end of the third part we start hearing some birds singing. The fourth part features the dawn chorus, with many more birds joining and singing together very nicely.
L’Ametlla del Vallès is a rural area 30 km away from Barcelona. It is normal in springtime to have many birds singing around, although this year there might be even more because of COVID19 lockdown… I’ll have to record it again next year (if lockdown is over!) to compare :) Enjoy!
Recorded on the night from 2nd to 3rd of May 2020, with a Zoom h4n using two external mics Oktava MK012 in XY as shown in this picture. This part of the recording is from 10pm to 3am.
EDIT: I was told by barcelonetasonora that the day I took the recording is in fact the International Dawn Chorus day. Nice coincidence!
