Steve shows a Peregrine Falcon as part of the 'Kings of the wind' free-flight bird show at the 'Tasmanian Devil Conservation Park'. Great park, great show! The falcon was quite vocal as you will hear. Recording chain: Panasonic WM61-A (omni-directional microphones) - Edirol R09 (digital recorder). The microphones were resting on a bench either side of me so that I was acting as a baffle.

Great capture! Love the picture too. Here in the uk the magnificent peregrine has made something of a comeback after decaeds of decline due to pesticides. Also widely culled in World War 2 to prevent attacks on carrier pigeons! Now adapted in many cities to nesting on tall buildings and feeding on feral pigeons.
