Just what I was looking for - captures both the 'water' tones but also the 'thump' of the energy of the wave dissipating on the sand.

excellent smooth surf; would be a 10 if the recording had picked up more of the deeply vibrant undertone to the surf. Also, there seemed to be an articficial continuous sound - electrical or mechanical in the recording equipment, or maybe a transformer or business within hearing range of the recording's locale.
