So, a thunder storm rolls in and you grab all your recording gear and rush out to stand under your verandah and realise the rain on the tin roof is too noisy...so you go stand in your garage with the door up (not happy with the rain on the paving which is a bit loud but what can you do)...and wait and wait...and just as the perfect thunder clap happens all the dogs in the neighbourhood start barking, or a car goes past...so you give up and just before the garage door closes you see a huge flash so you quickly stop the door closing and stick the microphone through the 10 cm gap at the bottom…this is what you get. Not great but it's clean and interesting. Recording chain: Rode NT4 (stereo microphone in Cini-City Blimp) – Sound Devices MixPre (Mic preamp) – Edirol R-09 (digital recorder 44.1 kHz @ 16 bit).

VERY nice rumble. Captures the ominous onset of a storm perfectly.
