My front veranda roof is tin and it was raining so I stood under it holding a Rode NT4 mic in close proximity to the underside of the roof. Filtering this sound will change the perceived roof type. This is a stereo recording. The NT4 was connected to an Edirol R-09 mic-in (15 level setting).

THIS takes me back to south-west Georgia (LaGrange to be exact), at a time when MANY homes had tin-roofs. I can visualize those big fat drops hitting the roof, and the steam rising until the roof cooled down. Only thing missing is the sound of the water going down the spout, and hitting the water barrel at the bottom. THANKS!!!!!!
