Nordic walking was created as a "derivative" of cross-country skiing, which Scandinavian competitors in particular have used as part of their summer training since the 1920s.
An even better imitation of cross-country skiing is possible with cross-country skateboards, which, to put it simply, are skis on wheels. The technique of running on these devices is identical to that on skis. The only problem is speed control and braking. The wheels of "classic" roller skates are hard and relatively small. These make it possible to run on (more or less) smooth asphalt. Because of this, cross-country skateboards are suitable for the training of competitors, only a few recreational players took them for their own.
