This is a recording of single shots from a Coachgun Winchester 1200 12 Ga. 2 3/4 & 3" Mag. with a SM57 close to the shooter, MXL2001 at the target and another MXL2001 halfway down range off to the left. Recorded via a Allen & Heath Mixwiz Console into a Delta 1010 into Nuendo 2 at 24/48 and dithered to 16/44.1

Thanks for recording these samples and thanks for replying. Once I got your response I looked up coach gun. Yes, it isn't a shotgun. :-)

Yes dude, I was making a joke. I recorded those samples. And yes, it still shouldn't sound like a shotgun to you because it isn't.

vancedylan, I'm not sure what the link to the city of Winchester has to do with Winchester firearms, though it was nice to read about the city and see where it was located in the UK. There is a song about a Winchester Cathedral, and it must refer to this city.
I was referring to weapons manufactured by Winchester, a company that produced firearms, among those firearms being shotguns. And some of those shotguns being 12 Gauge.

I see from that link that they are no longer in the business, having spun it off. However, because of brand recognition Browning is still selling guns under the Winchester name.
