This the the first of two recordings I made during a snow/freezing rain/wind storm the last few days. It is 29 degrees F with wind gusts to 40 mph. This is a raw, unedited recording, which includes me making a few notes to myself. I start in my garage, say a few words, then head out into the storm. I try to find a spot where I can hear the wind in the trees without overpowering the mics. The recording ends abruptly because the batteries in my recorder died.

Thanks! I'll use this brilliant recording of wind in a nature/fly fishing documentary from Norway. Needed a good wind to complement some winter shots! Thanks. Film will be posted here: www.rakkenes.com

I love this! I love all the different timbres and variation is pitch. I'm using this for a creative ensemble piece and also a children's listening exercise. Thank you!
