An electric motor from the 1930's with a grinding wheel attached. The motor continues for 15 seconds with an interesting oscillating sound, then is unplugged and the motor slowly spins down. Toward the end you hear the gentle tick-tick-tick of a braking mechanism(?). Recorded very close, on a digital camcorder. The camera mic was near the shaft, between the grinding wheel and the motor. This motor belonged to my grandfather, who was born in 1895.

Lovely, hope to use it in Scene 5 in Episode 15 of Ad Astral – The Patron Saint of Domestic Appliances: due out in February. Credits will be in the shownotes.
    Many, many thanks.
