F-15 fighter jets starting up. Apparently they use compressed air to start?

They use a secondary non-thrust producing engine called a Jet Fuel Starter (JFS). This small engine turns a PTO shafts which provides the RPMs for engine start. They do not use compressed air. The high pitched whine you hear building up and suddenly dying off is the JFS reaching 110% RPM during engine start
