This recording is of small waves lapping over the sand at ebb tide on Crosby beach in the Mersey estuary.
At the time of recording it was very calm with no wind and therefore no waves on the sea.
As the tide is going out, a channel was forming with a sandbank behind it. In the recording you can hear the waves breaking on the sandbank further out, and the small waves lapping at the edge of the channel near my position. This is recorded with a head mounted binaural microphone creating a very realistic image,, so it is best to listen with headphones to get the full effect.
Recording date: 2013/11/23
Recording location: Crosby, Liverpool, UK
Recording equipment: Innovative specialists 2 in 1 binaural head mounted omni directional microphones into the olympus LS14 digital recorder.
