Crackling flame. Up close. Small fire as in a camp fire.
These are high-quality copies of Hollywood original optical and mag effects from the 1930s through the '60s, transferred to full-track tape by USC Cinema. I have digitized them for preservation, but they have not all been restored and may have some noise.

Thank you for this sound. I shall use it in a mix of several different fire sounds for a section of a Community Play called Crossfire about the history of the town of Wells-Next-The-Sea, Norfolk UK. St Nicholas' church gets struck by lightning and is burnt down. I shall use it with attribution.

Thanks again for sharing your sound of fire. I used it (with attribution in the show notes) in an episode of the Tall And Short Stories podcast, Signs of the Second Coming. 🙏 ^Robert
