Audible replication of Zuccarelli's holophony (realistic sound localization) - "matchbox shaker". Please don't remove ID3 tags from mp3 file. Although this recording should be listened with headphones (binaural method), at the end - the "vertical axis" movement is perceivable even with one earphone. This shows how easy it's to achieve certain results, without expensive equipment and with proper understanding. @klankbeeld - they hear it so clearly and evidently (when I give them samples to listen, they don't know what it will be; they have no expectations nor reasons to be suspicious about what "perhaps" to expect), that later when we talk - they can't beileve that someone can't hear it this way. They are just overwhelmed. After such session - I ask them questions about impressions, perceptions, and so on and so forth.
I personally - can swich on and off my auditory perception between various systems (ways of hearing), because I've learned it and know how to do it. If I couldn't - I wouldn't believe either.
So this is not a matter of beliefs, but rather of design properties (not necessarily limitations).

Dear @ ayamahambho,
I would not cheat you. The more I listen, the more I wonder whether people hear it, or wanted to hear.
Hence my ambivalence .. But, I still watch the phenomenon. and notify you when I heard a convincing example.
Kind regards ;-)

People who can hear up and down movements (and still - it is about 90% of subjects) - they don't understand/believe (literally - they can not comprehend) how it is even possible, that someone does not hear the verticality in such recordings. It's an interesting phenomenon, and it was opened on the forum, to solve it there.
If you can't hear the verticality on both - mine and the original of Zuccarelli (you mean this one?) - it tells something important about the origins of Zucarelli's recording (typical approach + marketing), but also probably points to some perceptual issues (when you close your eyes and let someone to play with physical matchbox - do you hear vertical movements?). And/or hardware; people sometimes don't know they have active DSP effects or different than 2.0 settings on their computers/players (ordinary things happen everyday).
This recording uses only a basic setting, known by anyone who works with this topic. I have not even began to experiment with modifications.
And as mentioned on the forum - "holophonic" is only a word that describes the fact, that people can hear vertical movements/locations; replicating spatial perception via recording techniques and/or software adjustments - refers only to that word because it is about "holo-" (=whole, all, total) and "-phonic" (=sound). According to what you said - hearing anything in vertical axis - is nonsense. (-;

On the other hand dear @klankbeeld - once when I asked on the forum (via sample request) for certain kind of field recordings - I remember you were the one who tried to cheat me. So I don't know now - whether I can take you seriously. (-;

'm Still not convinced. I hear only the left, right and rear. The original Internet has the same problem. And example of hairdresser too.
In my example you'll hear the same "problem";

Till now I maintain, holophonic is nonsense.
