Waves on stony beach. Larger waves than usual reach Samos, Greece, caused by the wake from a large ship that sailed past the Turkish coast a mile away, many minutes earlier. The advantage of the wake was getting good waves without the wind! Zoom H4 recorder. October 2007.

I have only just discovered "freesound" and have already used several tracks in talks I give to blind audiences - wonderful because it allows them to capture something of the atmosphere that normal sighted people can so easily get from photos. A terrific facility, much appreciated by my listeners.

I suspect this'll fit in perfectly with a show I'm doing with a man stranded on a beach with a Siren
