This is a matchlock musket from 1710. Created this for a production of Treasure Island. Muskets like this are crazy dangerous since the operator would load the gunpowder just inches away from a burning ember, or match, which would them be touched to the rifle to make it fire. Has more of a ballistic sound to it when compared to a flintlock musket.

Thanks for this, we did Treasure Island a couple of years back and this would have been good then. This year? The Return of The Three Musketeers! Not exactly a contemporary musket, but it will sound good. Probably better than the correct period musket does.

@Thatkidwiththeface: Sooo, you're trolling. On Freesound. I pity you more than I'm mad at you. Congratulations! You've just won the prize for most pathetic person ever! How does it feel?

Thanks, aaronsiler, this is perfect. Also doing a Treasure Island production. There are so many gunshot fx on here, but this is the only matchlock I could find. Really does have a different sound. Great.
