I was at the edge of a lake in the Pyrenees mountains, at the bottom of a valley. There were cows all around me and the valley was divided into two distinct parts, connected by a narrower gap. When some cows wanted to join the other cows that were on the other side of the valley, we could hear them mooing in this characteristic way. Their cries could be heard across the valley thanks to the mountain walls which made the sound of their voices resonate.
