This high‑resolution recording captures the natural purring and alpha‑wave breathing patterns of a Norwegian Forest Cat resting on a couch in a quiet living‑room environment. Recorded as isolated as possible, the microphone was positioned close enough to retain clear low‑frequency purr detail while still preserving a subtle, realistic sense of room acoustics.
During the first minute, the sound consists mostly of steady, rhythmic purring, rich in mid‑low resonance and soft airflow components.
From 1:00 onward, the cat begins self‑grooming while purring, producing additional textures such as tongue movements, light fur contact, subtle mouth sounds, and natural body shifts. These elements blend smoothly into the ambient space of the room.
