I guess he means in order to keep only the bird's shriek you removed too much background hiss (white noise). As a result it sounds a bit 'lifeless' so to say. But hey, it's fine for a digital camera! Also, just for the sake of curiosity have a look at the file in Audacity under spectral view. Very instructive!
