Very peaceful, but also with a strange melancholy! Gentle babbling of River Teign as it runs through a line of copse between fields as it approaches the so-called Teign Gorge (Drewsteignton, Devon, UK), but also with wind chimes giving a weirdly strong melancholy to the proceedings, albeit in a most beautiful manner. Bird sounds are mostly robin.
Chimes used:
1. Music of the Spheres Gypsy Mezzo
2. Music of the Spheres Gypsy Soprano
3. Woodstock Chimes of Pluto
I made this recording on the afternoon of 5 March 2013, just a little way upstream from the Teign Gorge woods, on the edge of a pastureland field. The wind was dying down, so my recording time there was limited by that factor.
This recording taking place. The Gypsy chimes are left and centre, with black tubes, while the Pluto chimes are the rightmost and nearer, with 'silver'-finished tubes.
Techie stuff
The recorder was Sony PCM-M10, with Røde DeadKitten furry windshield (original, more effective, version), placed on a Velbon Mini tripod.
Post-recording processing was to apply EQ in Audacity to correct for the muffling effect of the windshield, and more recent processing with the A1 Stereo Control VST plugin (160% widening).
